Do strange words ever just appear at the front of your consciousness? Once in a while, an odd word pops into my head, and I have no idea what it means. Back in September it was “mellifluous,” which basically means sweet. I promptly used it in an email to describe some cats. Today it’s “vituperative,” which apparently means “characterized by verbal abuse.” This must be the evil revenge of the PSAT or something. (1 comment)

I constantly have this problem. It’s not even just words, though often it is. One morning I woke up with this one phrase running through my head relentlessly, “I am the American ambassador to Papua New Guinea.” Out of NOWHERE. If it’s not that, it’s random Japanese words that I can’t stop thinking about.
