They came in a red box, shaped like a shoe box for kids’ shoes, with a note: “Happy Thanksgiving, Love Mom and Dad.” Inside there were three packs, wrapped up in cellophane by hand.
I went to bed early tonight, so I woke up really early… 4am. It took me a long time to unwrap the plastic, about as long as the last ten seconds of a tied football game. It was dark in my room, and I couldn’t even see what kind I was getting. As I unrolled that last layer of plastic I felt, but couldn’t see, that there were four big oatmeal raisin cookies, but now there are only three, and my glass of milk is nearly empty. #
